Dear North Penn,
I hope that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday and that this week’s virtual learning experience is going well for students and staff. As you know, by order of Montgomery County Board of Health, we are in virtual learning mode for the remainder of this week.
I write to inform you that all North Penn schools will reopen to hybrid, in-person learning on Monday, December 7. Monday will be a “Hybrid 1” day.

NPSD administration continues to work closely with the Montgomery County Office of Public Health as we plan for the coming weeks and do all we can to keep our students, staff and community safe. We are fortunate to be one of the few counties in Pennsylvania with a county office of public health! As we consult with the Montgomery County Office of Public Health, we are cautiously optimistic that we can maintain hybrid, in-person learning with the safety protocols, case investigations, contact tracing, and cleaning and disinfecting protocols we have in place. However, if in-school transmission were to take place or if we could not fill staff absences thereby necessitating a functional shutdown, a temporary transition to remote learning is always a possibility. Please always have a plan in place in the event that your children are unable to attend in-person instruction due to a building closure.
As in-person instruction resumes on Monday, we will once again communicate confirmed COVID-19 cases of in-person students and staff on the district’s Data Dashboard. As always, we will keep the health and welfare of students, staff and this community our number one priority.
Please continue to do everything you can to keep yourself and others safe and to stop the spread of COVID-19. I ask staff and students to stay home when sick and notify NPSD immediately if you are a confirmed case. As a reminder, if you elect to have your child learn via virtual mode on a day when your child is eligible to attend in person (based on your selection of hybrid option weeks ago), you will not be relinquishing your spot for hybrid eligibility. If your child has been learning virtually each day since the start of school, he or she will remain learning from home. Please continue to make the best choice for your child.
